Jace at Trailblazers Cub Sout Camp

Group of Pack 419 boys.  Jace is a Webelos 1 this year.  This was all day.  Tons of fun and lots of walking.  BB guns, archery, sling shots, campfire making, hot cocoa, sack lunch, bouncy castle, boat ride across Lake Coeur d Alene to Camp Easton. Just me and him.  I love scouting!

Cookie's best photo

This is the most photogenic pic I took of Cookie this year.  Generally my photos are not so great.  This one generated a lot of interest when I put her up for sale.

Halloween 2013

This year the kids all wanted to dress up as different things.  I think Lyssa was the most imaginative with her Southern Belle, Jace so "boy" in his ninja, and Kiara absolutely cute in her pikachu costume, Ali chose an angel which she wore around the house and to the trunk-or-treat party, but she tired of the wings, and the white dress was too long so she didn't love her costume this year.  I won 3rd place in the chili cook off.   OOOH ME!  I'm so stinkin proud of that especially since I'm not exactly known for being a fabulous cook.  I do make a good taco chili. mmm mmm good.

Meet Cookie.  Our new horse.  We've had her 2 weeks now.  She is a chestnut appaloosa, 5 years old, green broke, and loves the kids.  She is smart, but will need some time to be ready to ride.  She bucked the first time I tried to ride her.  Her coat is getting more sleek and shiny since these photos.  I can't wait to see how she cleans up after she sheds all her winter coat off.  I have been working her nearly every day, except this week I haven't felt very well so have only been to the barn twice.  Ugg cough, ouch lungs, pound head...  Today the kids want to go see her so I will take them out to the barn and while I do the mucking they can pet and dote on her.  Then I need to spend an hour working her (I'll take the kids home then come back--5 min a way).  I don't think my saddle fits her very well so I am on the lookout for a better one, but meanwhile I will try and ride today if we get to a good place in her work.
